It always takes me a day or so to get into the swing of things when I arrive in NY, and this funny illustrated book NYC Basic Tips and Etiquette is the perfect way to recap on the unique habits and unspoken rules of the eight million or so people living here. Illustrator Nathan W Pyle decided to create it after he moved to New York from Ohio, as a way to get to know and navigate the city. I love how he’s captured the little things that are so true of other cities too, that start to become second nature after a while.

There are 136 tips in total and I can’t wait to read them all. Take a look at his animated examples below.

Ellie, this is great. It really makes you want to see New York and shows how much fun it can be , especially using the Big Tips book. A short break is not nearly enough with all the exhibits and sights you’ve highlighted . No wonder you keep returning ! Have fun on your next visit and update us with more sights to see . Love Joan x

Hello Joan! Thanks for reading my blog. It’s been hard work starting it but I love doing it, and I realise there are SO many things I’m yet to see, despite having been over 10 times! When’s your next trip?
