Every week in New York, many of the city’s smaller, independent galleries in Chelsea throw opening parties for their new exhibitions or artists of the moment. Typically taking place on a Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, gallery hopping is a really fun evening and a great opportunity to get dressed up, stop by to sip wine and rub elbows with downtown artists.
Details of openings can be found on various websites, including NYC Gallery Openings. Once you know where you want to go, you can plot your route and itinerary on this handy map. Alternatively, you could join a meet-up, here.
