Have you made it to the Frida Kahlo exhibition – Art, Garden, Life – at The New York Botanical Garden, yet? If you haven’t, you’re in for such a treat, because on selected days, the summer exhibition transforms into an evening of Mexican-themed festivities for the perfect night out – Frida style.
In case you didn’t know, the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the wonderful life of Kahlo, featuring more than a dozen of her original paintings and works on paper as well as an amazing recreation of her famous Casa Azul garden and studio under the NY Botanical Garden’s glass conservatory.
There’s a Casa Azul taco truck and a cantina serving up Kahlo’s very own recipes, live music from mariachi bands and talented Mexican musicians, performance art, dancing, presentations on the craftsmanship of tequila, live painting classes and pop-up shops selling all things Frida.
You can also dress up if you want, for a chance to win the lookalike competition!
You’ll find the dates of Frida’s party here and buy your tickets here!
