Mind the closing doors please… nostalgic souls and tired shoppers in NYC were in for a treat a few weeks ago, when the people who run the subway in New York City rolled out its vintage subway trains. Starting early December and running for the following three Sundays, New Yorkers could hitch a ride for the price of a Metro card swipe (that’s an Oyster card to us lot across the pond) on the ‘Nostalgia Train’, consisting of eight cars from the 1930s to the 1970s. Vintage buses from the 1940s to the 1980s were also running around town. *Dress code: 20s, 30s, 40s (optional).
